How to write for wiki

Wikis are an amazing way to hold information, and making them visually pleasing is not a task to be done lightly. Not that it's difficult, it's just tedious. All of these have to be done in edit mode.

[edit] Heading 2

To make some thing like the text above, place two equal signs (==) before and after the text. This is for making sections of an article, or starting a conversation.

To make some thing like the text above, place three equal signs (===) before and after the text. This is for making subsections of a section.

[edit] formatting

  • Bold - to make some thing bold, place three single quotes (') before and after the text.
  • Italicize - to make some thing italics, place two single quotes (') before and after the text.


[edit] lists

  • to make a bulleted list, uses asterix (*) at the beginning of a sentence or paragraph.
  1. to make a number list, use the pound sign (#) at the beginning of a sentence or paragraph.
    • you may combine symbols to create a list with multiple levels.

[edit] indent

to indent a paragraph, place a colon in front of it.
the more colons, the more indetation you have.

[edit] links

  • to create an internal link, surround a word or phrase with double square brackets ([[ and ]]). to create a link, but have what is seen be different, use a | (above the enter key, use shift). A link that exists will appear Like this, while one that doesn't will appear like this (just an example).
  • to create an external link, use single square brackets ([[ and ]]), and don't forget the "http://". place a space and at least one word to make make that word(s) appear as the link. With out the word, you will see this [1], and with is, you will see Home


[edit] media

  • to use media (mainly images), place in the double square brackets one of the following:
    1. IMAGE: to bring in an image.
    2. media: to bring in sound.
  • these must have been uploaded first.
  • [[Image:Nape-color-300.png]] will come out like this: Image:Nape-color-300.png.
  • you may add (sepreated by pipe charaters |)
    • type - whether you want a thumb, thumbnail or frame.
    • location - right, left, center, etc.
    • size - specifies width or width and height
    • caption - additional infomation
So [[Image:Nape-color-300.png|thumb|center|100px|Nape Logo]] will come out as:
